Upgrading OO Doc Server 4.4.3 to 5.3 PROBLEM - Something went wrong during installation

Post by jekemino » Wed Jun 26, 2019 4:24 pm

Hi there,
I had my onlyoffice Document Server 4.4.3 working like a charm on my server and integrated it to Owncloud.
I tried to upgrade OO to 5.3. I used:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
but I could not. So I tried to overwrite the existent version following this commands:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install onlyoffice-documentserver
Everything went good, but as soon as I typed my local ip into web browser I got the answer: Something went wrong during installation.
My server is running Ubuntu 16.04.
Maybe is Nginx issue.
Can anyone help me, pls?
Thank you in advance.

Hello jekemino!
I suppose you should uninstall old version and install new one.

Hi,
how should I uninstall old version? I've read it's not so easy as it might appear.
Thank you

Hello jekemino!

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get remove onlyoffice-documentserver
I fixed the problem. I had to uninstall OO and reset PostgreSql Db and everything has gone well.
Here the list of commands I use, if anyone might need them:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get purge onlyoffice-documentserver
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo systemctl stop postgresql@9.5-main
sudo pg_dropcluster 9.5 main
sudo pg_dropcluster 9.5 main
sudo pg_createcluster 9.5 main
sudo pg_ctlcluster 9.5 main start
sudo apt-get install postgresql
sudo -i -u postgres psql -c "CREATE DATABASE onlyoffice;"
sudo -i -u postgres psql -c "CREATE USER onlyoffice WITH password 'onlyoffice';"
sudo -i -u postgres psql -c "GRANT ALL privileges ON DATABASE onlyoffice TO onlyoffice;"
echo onlyoffice-documentserver onlyoffice/ds-port select 80 | sudo debconf-set-selections
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install onlyoffice-documentserver
Thank you for your support.
