We have installed onlyoffice community-server successfully, however when we access it ---> documents, we can not edit a document, the pencil symbol for editions next to the file does not exist

Hello!
You have installed Community Server only i suppose. Also there must be installed Documment Server to edit files.
I advice you to install Community Edition (free version with limited connections and cpu cores) or Enterprise Edition (full version with 30 day trial key). Trial 30 day activation key for Enterprise Edition you can download here, but you must fill in the form.
Or you can install the Document Server separately and connect servers, but i think it's hard way.

There is no a chance to run both OnlyOffice (Document and Community) servers on one Linux machine, precisely speaking there is but it's hard, the problem is connected with forwarding ports. That's why we use Docker technology to run servers on a machine. So you should use 2 separate servers and connect them or you can use Docker installation. You can notice that there is no linux version here. We advice you to try Community Edition for Docker version.

Hello!
There is a problem with server's security i suppose.
Check out your ports

Code: Select all

netstat -tulpn

Code: Select all

netstat -tulpn | grep :80
be sure that iptables give access to 80 port

Code: Select all

iptables -L INPUT -v -n | grep 80
if it's not let's change it

Code: Select all

iptables -A INPUT -m state --state NEW -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT

Hello khaled!
There is notification about update in Enterprise Edition, but in Community there is no such notification. You should update manually OnlyOffice containers. To do that you should delete your old containers (data folders must be maped), delete old installation script, download fresh installation script and install necessary containers.
