Comments on read-only spreadsheets

Post by ehalep » Tue Apr 23, 2019 3:37 pm

Greetings to all,

I tried to search within the forum for this question, but i couldn't find something similar.
I have installed the community edition for both the onlyoffice and document server.

I'm sharing a spreadsheet in read-only in which i have made a few comments.
The person that has read-only access does not see my comments.

Is this intentional? Is there an option to share the comments?

This similar option exists for documents with the review sharing option.
Is there something for spreadsheets?

Thank you in advance,
Evangelos.

Hello Evangelos,

Currently comments are not displayed in read-only mode. This will be changed in the upcoming Document Server update (version 5.3). We hope to release it by the end of April.

Greetings Carl,

Thank you very much for letting me know.
Just a quick follow up, as this is my first time i have used only office.

I installed the document server through the instructions from the help center.
So updating the server on an ubuntu machine, it's going to though apt-get?

Thanks again.

Regards,
Evangelos.

Hello Evangelos,

You can update Community Edition using the script opensource-install.sh with an additional parameter -u true:

bash opensource-install.sh -u true (choose N when the script asks you to install Docker).

I'd recommend to make a snapshot of the server before the update so that you can restore the installation if something goes wrong.
