I might be mistaken but I think the general idea is to spin-up all three containers just like you describe in your procedure above and then disable (deselect) the mail server in the Admin login's Settings.

It's something like login > gear menu > Common > De-Select Tools/Mail. Click Save.

Maybe someone here can comment on whether this is the preferred course to follow for those who already have mail servers.

Hello,

Here are the instructions on how to install ONLYOFFICE without Mail Server:

It's interesting that the script opensource-install.sh specifies the images

COMMUNITY_IMAGE_NAME="onlyoffice4enterprise/communityserver-ee";
DOCUMENT_IMAGE_NAME="onlyoffice4enterprise/documentserver-ee";
MAIL_IMAGE_NAME="onlyoffice/mailserver";
CONTROLPANEL_IMAGE_NAME="onlyoffice4enterprise/controlpanel-ee";

while the directions given on pages like

https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/Docker-CommunityServer
or
https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/serve ... ation.aspx

seem to refer to onlyoffice/communityserver or onlyoffice/documentserver as examples.

Why is that? I would never have tried those images. Are we to believe that in some cases they are (or can be) used interchangeably?

Docker Hub Public Repository is showing an update to Document Server six (6) days ago.

https://hub.docker.com/search/?isAutoma ... tarCount=0

The image for onlyoffice4enterprise/communityserver-ee was just updated six (6) hours ago.

I cannot say that the one definitive "fix" has been delivered but since the issue of the update was raised I think I've seen three (3) updates to the image for Document Server. The latest release of Document Server, for example, was two (2) days ago at the time of this post. Check here:

https://hub.docker.com/r/onlyoffice/documentserver/

Community Server was updated three (3) months ago.

To answer your question, the current release seems very good and so far I have not had the problem discussed in this thread.

I suggest you pull the latest images and spin-up your containers again.

As an aside but related to updating the server, does anyone know if Watchtower can be used safely with OnlyOffice CE?

"A process for watching your Docker containers and automatically restarting them whenever their base image is refreshed."

See here for info at Docker: https://hub.docker.com/r/centurylink/watchtower/

Hi,

Thanks for your answer :)

We use the last version and we encountered the problem last week.
Community server container took all resources.
It was a monoserve process who used 400% of the CPU...

Hello!
We couldn't simulate the situation with a monoserve process who used 400% of the CPU, but we advice you to stop autorestart of ONLYOFFICE services.

Code: Select all

docker attach [container id communityserver]
and delete "onlyoffice" in /etc/cron.d

Is this a modification you are recommending to all users?

Will this change be reflected in an update to Community Server?

Hello!
Of course not for all, but as a possible solution. Our developers are working on it! There is no enough info about the bug unfortunately and if you have such problem please inform us. It's important for us to understand at exactly what moment it happens, how often and what OS of servers you're using. Any information will be useful for us!
