Email search not working

Post by PurpleAlien » Fri May 24, 2019 8:28 pm

Hi all,

I just installed the latest docker version and I get the following error in my browser console when I enter a query in the email filter/search bar:

Code: Select all

getMailFilteredConversations() ["Object reference not set to an instance of an object"]
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Johan

Hi,

I followed the instructions per the github readme, here:
https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/Docker-DocumentServer as per the section "Installing ONLYOFFICE Document Server integrated with Community and Mail Servers". The mail server installed this way is the only one in use - no other accounts connected.

I've had the same set-up running with version 9 without any issues.

Best regards,
Johan

I just did an upgrade from a 9.x to 10.x version. It seems now search on documents, email, etc. is only working on documents added after the upgrade date. My guess is something wrong with the database - any ideas?

Ok, traced it down to the change to Elasticsearch. How would I re-index existing documents/mail/... from the old version using Sphinx to the new Elasticsearch version?

Hello Johan,

We apologize for the delayed response.

Please do the following to re-index the search:

sudo service god stop
sudo service onlyofficeIndex stop
curl -X DELETE http://localhost:9200/mail_mail
curl -X DELETE http://localhost:9200/files_file
mysql -h onlyoffice-mysql-server -u onlyoffice_user -ponlyoffice_pass -D onlyoffice
delete from webstudio_index;
exit;
sudo service onlyofficeIndex start
sudo service elasticsearch restart
sudo service god start

The commands above should be executed in the container with Community Server.

Please notify us about the result.

Hi,

That seems to improve things! The only thing that didn't work is restarting Elasticsearch (getting 'failed') but 'ps aux | grep elasticsearch' does indicate it running '/usr/bin/java ... -p /var/run/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.pid' (seems to be started with 'service onlyofficeIndex start' , 'service elasticsearch status' returns it not running).

Thanks for the help - I'll investigate this further. Let me know if you have any ideas why the above scenario would present itself.

EDIT: it seems that something was still trying ''service elasticsearch start' every couple of seconds. Killing the existing java process allowed this command to succeed and now 'service elasticsearch status' returns that it is running. Will keep an eye out and edit this if anything else pops up...

Johan.
