Err 81

Basically it's the same issue as here, but the OP never posted his solution...

Installed Community version of Document Server and I am attempting to create/edit a new file from ownCloud.

Installation and initial checks appear to complete ok but when opening the file in OnlyOffice, the error on screen is: "Download Failed"

and in the logs I see this: "type":"documentOpen","data":{"type":"open","status":"err","data":-81}

any clues as to what it might be ?

Is ownCloud accessible from Document Server?
You can try to ping ownCloud from document-server-container.

Thank you, that was a solid tip.

Turns out that I had ownCloud encryption enabled and that won't work with Document Server. Disabled encryption and it now works

I had the same error code - In my case it was Authentication (file request got 401 answer instead of the file).
What helped a lot is inspecting the file converter logs:

docker exec -t -i a7aeb39bfc36 /bin/bash
tail -f /var/log/onlyoffice/documentserver/converter/out.log
