General Questions NextCloud -> OO

Post by bforpc » Tue Jun 27, 2017 3:35 pm

Hi there,

because of a not working configuartion, i have some basic questions on ho to integrate / connect nextcloud to oo:
The enviroment:
- my nextcloud server is running under Debian and nginx with http only behind a nginx proxy with letsencrypt certs. This works perfect (with https).
- my onlyoffice server is similar connected. It runs under Debian 8 Jessie -> The Web Page tells me: "Document Server is running" in both url (via the external domain with https and the internal IP via http)

1. can nextcloud connect direct to OO via http:[ip address of oo] (private IP, same subnet of 192.168.x.x)
1.a. if not? How can i secure my oo, that nobody else can use it?
2. must be the connection between Nextcloud and oo equal (https / http) ?
3. if the OO server Web Interface tells me, everything looks fine, aka "Document Server is running", is there anything else to figure out on the oo Server?

Best regards from Hamburg Germany :-)

Hello bforpc,

1) You should use external ip address of the OO or the domain name of the server.

2) The connection between NC and OO should be equal, if your NC uses https, then document server should also use https protocol. Otherwise it won't work.

3) No, there are no additional settings for document server.
