Editing documents on mobile devices

Post by 4kochi » Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:21 am

Hello,

we have integrated OnlyOffice in our web app. It works fine on the desktop.

But on an iPad, when a document is opened in edit mode you can see the cursor, but the iOS keyboard does not appear.

Is this a bug or is it general not possible to edit documents on a mobile device. Or is there maybe a way we can "hack" into the DOM manually through our web app and control some behaviors of the OnlyOffice app?

Thx for any help

Greetings
Andreas

Hello Andreas,

What Document Server version are you using? It is possible to edit documents on mobile platforms. Please make sure you indicate mobile mode in the editor config:

Hi Carl,

just one question regarding the mobile view of OnlyOffice (https://api.onlyoffice.com/editors/config/#type). It seems like in there the plugins are not available.

The problem is that we have a plugin which should start automatically. This works fine in the desktop view. But not in the mobile view. Probably because the plugins are not loaded there in general.

Can you confirm this? And it is somehow possible to load plugins in the mobile view?

Thx

Hello Andreas,

If you add some content to a document by means of plugin in desktop type editor, it will be displayed when viewing it on mobile. But the plugin functionality itself is not available in mobile editors.
