LDAP addition and User Email

Post by asmeets » Wed Sep 03, 2014 1:25 pm

When adding LDAP services to an on-premise installation, will all users added receive an email?

When you add users using LDAP settings all users will be added and actived without sending any activation message.

Thanks so much for your quick reply! Is it possible to add LDAP capabilities and not import all users? From the directions, it appears that when we setup LDAP authentication, it will bring in all users automatically.

If you don't want import all users from Active Directory to portal, you may use Group Membership option in LDAP Settings tab. The group with specific users should be created in Active Directory before the import.

Thanks for your help! When we turned on AD to add the accounts, it wouldnt recognize existing members and created a new account with a 1 at the end. We turned off integration and deleted the duplicate accounts, but now the other accounts say "Accoun Suspended". Are there any changes we can make in MySQL to just make these local accounts instead of deleting them and manually recreating? I checked out the users table and they are active.

Thanks in advance!

If you create an account for user and then import user with the same e-mail address, both of accounts will be created and the e-mail address of the imported account will be changed by adding the numbers according to the principle "emailaddress1", "emailaddress2" and so on.. You can delete imported accounts from ONLYOFFICE. As for your second question, we do not recommend you to change your database manually. If it is necessary to change it, please, change the value of the "Status" field in the "core_user" table to "1".
