Document Server cache clearing

Postby AndrewG » Sat May 13, 2017 5:02 pm

Hi OO team,

looks like when open document for edition - it gets downloaded to the Document Server (folder /var/lib/onlyoffice/documentserver/App_Data/cache/files on Docker image) from Document Storage Server, and then later when you are trying to open the same document (with the same "key"), Document Server tries to retrieve it from its own cache, and doesn't download it again from the Document Storage Server.

Is it possible to tune this behavior?

Issue 1: In case cache on document server was manually cleaned - Document Server hangs on opening files, as probably it thoughts that file should be in its cache and waits for it forever...
Issue 2: It is okay to cache files for a while, but definitely cached files should not be stored in the cache forever, so the question how soon documents will be purged from the cache?

Thanks!

Hello AndrewG!
Documents are replaced periodically.
It's not enough to delete Document Server's cache. Also you need to cean database.
You can configure it in /etc/onlyoffice/documentserver/default.json
Code: Select all
{
...
   "services": {
      "CoAuthoring": {
...
         "expire": {
            "files": 86400,
            "filesCron": "00 00 */1 * * *",

files - in seconds 86400=24 hours
filesCron - start time to check, one time per one hour
