Try the fastest and simplest way to install ONLYOFFICE

OnlyOffice settings not finding up Sphinx.

OnlyOffice settings not finding up Sphinx.

Postby mrman » Tue Dec 01, 2015 4:19 am

I've installed and running OnlyOffice Comm on a single host (Not Docker). Sphinx is installed on the host. I get the following error in Sphinx settings when I click test: "Full text service is not running"

I used the following commands to install Sphinx on the host OS Ubuntu 14.04

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:builds/sphinxsearch-rel22
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sphinxsearch

sphinxsearch version is 2.2.10

I've verified that the port is open on the host from a different host.

In Sphinx settings i tried setting the host as: localhost and IPADDRESS_OF_HOST

It is more correct to use IP-address.

PLease try to restart onlyofficeIndex first.

I've tried setting the host IP and restarted the Index service by running: sudo service onlyofficeIndex restart

However, I'm still getting the message: "Full text service is not running"

1. Are there any data in /var/www/onlyoffice/Data/Index ?

2. What are the access rights to the folder?

There is data in the folder /var/www/onlyoffice/Data/Index which is: binlog.001 binlog.meta community crm files mail projects

Permissions on the folder is: drwxr-xr-x 7 onlyoffice onlyoffice 4096 Dec 2 11:25 Index

I've tried setting the whole folder of /var/www/onlyoffice/Data to 777 recursively through all the subfolder and restart the server. I still have the same issue.

Please try the following:

Stop sphinxsearch and

echo "Start=No" >> /etc/init.d/sphinxsearch

After that:

1) Stop onlyofficeIndex. Stop processes: searchd, indexer.
2) Clean the folder /var/www/onlyoffice/Data/Index
3) Clear table in the db: webstudio_index
4) Start onlyofficeIndex

In fact, it shall re-launch the Indexation service. Contact us and inform of the results, please.

Still didn't work.

I ran the following commands:
sudo service searchd stop
sudo killall -9 searchd
echo "Start=No" | sudo tee -a /etc/init.d/sphinxsearch
sudo rm -rf /var/www/onlyoffice/Data/Index/*
truncate table webstudio_index

I'm still getting the error message: Full text service is not running
