"Check the Portal name" When trying to use Desktop editors.

Postby relink » Mon May 01, 2017 10:09 am

I finally got my onlyoffice server up and running on Ubuntu Server 16.04 and nearly everything seems to be working, including https with a self-signed-cert. I can login from any computer I want, I can also use the iOS app on my phone with no issues what so ever.

However the problem is only with the Desktop editors (Windows 10). When I try to login to my portal from the desktop editors I get the error "Check the portal name", I am using all the same login info I would use on the iOS apps, or loggin in through my web browser, so im not sure whats wrong? can anyone help?

I used the instructions below to install the server and setup HTTPS access.

Hello relink!
The problem is that Desktop Editor supports "normal" (not self-signed) CA certs only. If you run OO with no https then Desktop would connect to OO server.

ahhhhh, I was wondering if that was the problem.

What if I installed the cert onto the computer I am trying to run the editors on, would that work? I have done this for other programs in the past.

Also, what about the CA "Let's Encrypt"? does anyone here have any experience using their certs with onlyoffice on Ubuntu Server 16.04? I tried reading through the setup, but it was way over my head.
