How to solve the error: "The document could not be saved"

Postby olegburca » Wed Aug 10, 2016 7:47 pm

Hi,

I installed OnlyOffice CommunityServer (Docker version) on a virtual machine (KVM, Xeon CPU, 8GB RAM for VM) via installation script, then configured it to WORK on HTTPS (updated the crt and key files as is wrote in documentation).
Everything is working fine, except an annoing Warning on Documents module:
The document could not be saved. Please check connection settings or contact your administrator.
When you click the 'OK' button, you will be prompted to download the document.
Find more information about connecting Document Server here.

After I click OK, document is closed and I'm redirected to my documents list. This warning appear 2 or 3 times, then does not show more. The changes are saved, but it is very annoing.

When that error occurs, I see the following logs in /var/log/onlyoffice/documentserver/CoAuthoringService/out.log:
[2016-08-10 19:38:34.150] [ERROR] nodeJS - postData error: docId = 6TyFHQHlW4zyi9PmJRI_;url = http://mydomain.com:80/products/files/h ... false;data = {"key":"6TyFHQHlW4zyi9PmJRI_","status":1,"users":["7c83e94a-f9a5-40d3-87a0-0315c69068aa"],"actions":[{"type":1,"userid":"7c83e94a-f9a5-40d3-87a0-0315c69068aa"}]}

Hello,

First of all, please go Settings>>Integration>>Document Service and change address in the line "Community Server Address" to your IP address (or to your domain address if IP is indicated at the moment).

If it does not solve the issue, please send us a screenshot showing Settings you have chosen.

Eugenie,
Thank you for replay!

I used these settings, but got the same errors.

Does it require some other settings?
Logs show that it still try to connect via HTTP, even if URLs was changed to HTTPS.

Eugenie, thank you for help!

The problem is solved.
Updating of domain name on settings page did the job, but that does not solve the error for the documents that was created/uploaded before changes.

If anyone have the same error: Change the domain name in settings then re-upload existing files.

Regards,
Oleg.

Hi guys,

I have the same issue, I had to change the document server address in owncloud administration and since that time I have this issue. I can open, edit and save documents, but I have this message during opening of the document. If I reupload the document, everything works fine, but is there any different workaround? I can't imagine that I need to reupload all documents.

Thanks & regards, Jakub

Hello JefferyR!
Describe your Onlyoffice configuration please.
This error appears when the document editing service cannot connect to the document storage service (see here).
