Try the fastest and simplest way to install ONLYOFFICE

ONLYoffice™

Issues during installation and related to database

ONLYoffice™

Debian 8 Jessie
Community Server latest version install (no docker)
Server was built fresh yesterday using the ONLYoffice installation procedure on the web.

certbot certonly --webroot -w /var/www/onlyoffice -d yourdomain.com

UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\ufeff' in position 208: ordinal not in range(128)

I think it is because of this:

I guess the strange character at the end is something like the trademark character ONLYOFFICE™

Document Server does not have this strange character.

I also noticed some special characters in the help text in the Settings not displaying properly. May be a server issue. Document Server works fine using certbot HTTPS.

Maxim,

The problem was related to "/etc/nginx/available-sites/onlyoffice" modified for HTTPS.

https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/serve ... https.aspx

The instructions suggest using a template from here:
https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/Docker-Co ... office-ssl

It requires serious modifications and in my case created a bit of a puzzle to solve:

The following causes error 403 or 404:

...
...
location ~ ^/.well-known {
allow all;
}
include /etc/nginx/includes/onlyoffice-communityserver-*.conf;
}

Reversing the order of the exact same instructions is what was required to make it work:

...
...
include /etc/nginx/includes/onlyoffice-communityserver-*.conf;
location ~ ^/.well-known {
allow all;
}
}

Case closed; thank you for your help.
