Calculation in spreadsheet doesn't work

Postby sunshine » Thu May 25, 2017 12:43 pm

Hi folks,

my problem is simple, but I can do what I want I can't get onlyoffice spreadsheet working properly.

Here's what I try to do:

I have 2 cells, G5 and B5.
Currently in G5 is the number 951.
Currently in B5 is the number 2000.
I click a 3rd cell and apply a function.
The function is supposed to automatically calculate the percentage to which G5 is part of B5, so mathematically: (951/2000) * 100 = 47,55 %

How one gets this working?

I can't get it working.
My attempt looks like this:
1. I click a 3rd cell.
2. I click on the drop down menu arrow of the "insert function" button
- a drop down menu appears
3. I click on ADDITIONAL
4. I click on QUOTIENT (mathematics & trigonometry)
5. I click on OK | =QUOTIENT()
6. I click on G5 | =QUOTIENT(G5)
7. Then I type in a comma | =QUOTIENT(G5,)
8. Then I click on B5 | =QUOTIENT(G5,B5)
9. Then I finally click enter
- I expect onlyoffice spreadsheet to do the calculation (951/2000) now and output 0,4755, but this is not what onlyoffice outputs. Instead it outputs 0.
-- a lot of trial and error showed me that onlyoffice seems to only output the natural number no matter what the calculation is, so for example...
--- 951/2000 = 0(,4755)
--- 2200/2000 = 1(,1)
--- 4000/2000 = 2
--- 5000/2000 = 2(,5)
--- 5500/2000 = 2(,75)
10. If I click the percentage button based on all of this the output is 0%.

How do one get this working?

Hello sunshine!
Actually it works! Learn here

If you're looking to divide numeric values and keep a remainder, you'll want to use the "/" operator as there isn't a DIVIDE function in Excel. For example, to divide 5 by 2, you would type "=5/2" (without the quotes) into a cell, which returns 2.5. The QUOTIENT function for these same numbers (QUOTIENT 5,2) returns 2.. For other ways to divide numbers,
