Is there any way to save file on DSS at a regular interval?

Any issues about docs (uploading, editing and etc.)

Is there any way to save file on DSS at a regular interval?

Postby NI3 » Wed Apr 12, 2017 10:12 am

There might be a scenario where user edited a document for say 15 minutes and after that the document editor server accidentally stopped due to any reason. So in that case the 15 minutes of work of the user will be lost. So is there any way by which we could configure the DES to save file on DSS at a regular interval or else we could give any option to user to explicitly save the document?

Hello NI3!

If for some reason Onlyoffice server crashed all changes are going to be saved in Document Server's cache. You won't lose data, you should reopen the document again, but the user must be the same user who edited the document.

I accept your suggestion but I still want the save control either in storage server's hand or in user's hand to handle every worst case scenario.

Is there any parameter that I could pass at a regular interval from storage server to editor server through config json using java?

or else

Editing user could do some thing like CTRL+S to save the file on storage server?

Hello NI3!
If you disable "autosave" in advanced settings than you are supposed to save changes manually. It's the same "CTRL+S", isn't it?.

I want that on "CTRL+S" press the document to be saved on storage server and not on editing server.

Hello NI3!
Let me repeat you again
If you disable "autosave" the changes will not be applied until you press "CTRL+S"

After saving (press "CTRL+S") it will save the file where you opened it (on storage server).
