Getting Document server working with office server

Postby kevinb » Mon Nov 21, 2016 6:50 pm

Ok, trying for a second time to get this up and running and being able to edit documents. :) I first tried the instructions for Centos 7, and while onlyoffice installed fine I couldn't find any instructions to install the document server under Centos 7. SO I requilt the server using Ubuntu 14.04 this time. Onlyoffice installed fine, no issues, I can log in, see the demo files, etc. Proceeded to install document server on the same machine using the provided instructions for Ubuntu. Everything was going fine until it got to the actual install of the document server file. The docs say setup will prompt you for the postresql password and to use onlyoffice like previously defined. Howver, it did NOT ask me and I got the following error:

Setting up onlyoffice-documentserver (4.1.8-1) ...
Adding user www-data to group onlyoffice
psql: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "root"
FATAL: password authentication failed for user "root"
psql: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "root"
FATAL: password authentication failed for user "root"
dpkg: error processing package onlyoffice-documentserver (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.19-0ubuntu6.9) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
onlyoffice-documentserver
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
root@onlyoffice:/tmp#

Is there a way to either rerun the installation and provide the password on the cli, or some way to manually fix this error? Was document server even actually installed or stopped because of the error? If it was, I assume it's broken and will need the password entered into some config file somewhere? Really trying to get this working but keep hitting a wall. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Did you find a solution? We're having the same issue over here.

Hello!
There is problem with SQL database, SQL user and password!
Please see attentively! Before installation of OnlyOffice Document Server on CentOS 7 you must install all dependencies. Installation with Debian based distributives requires the presence of nodejs (version 4.0.0 or later), libstdc++6, nginx and postgresql in the system. After PostgreSQL is installed, create the PostgreSQL database and user:
Code: Select all
sudo -u postgres psql -c "CREATE DATABASE onlyoffice;"
sudo -u postgres psql -c "CREATE USER onlyoffice WITH password 'onlyoffice';"
sudo -u postgres psql -c "GRANT ALL privileges ON DATABASE onlyoffice TO onlyoffice;"

And try Kabo's solution in previous post.
